Teammate is run by me — Ryan.
I’ve spent my career working inside and with growing businesses; where customers, internal teams, systems, and commercial goals meet.
At the risk of sounding like a w*nker, my default mindset is Systems Thinking (a blessing and a curse for me).
I naturally look at how people, processes, tools, incentives, and goals interact, and where those interactions break down or pull against each other.
Teammate is how you access that way of working.
Teammate is a project-based consultancy focused on improving customer-facing operations, decision-making, and performance.
In practice, that means:
You should not expect:
Engagements are deliberately contained, with clear scope, objectives, and outputs. Delivery is flexible and agreed upfront.
Because inefficiency rarely shows up as a single obvious problem.
More often, processes are held together by workarounds. Tools get added to plug gaps and treat symptoms in isolation. Capable people quietly compensate (or firefight) friction that shows up in every part of your customer lifecycle.
Over time, that friction turns into:
Wasted spend
Slower execution
Missed revenue
Growing operational risk
None of this appears neatly on a balance sheet, but it has a very real financial cost.
From a leadership perspective, things can look broadly fine. From closer up, performance is being eroded in small, compounding ways — often without anyone having a clear view of where demand is leaking, effort is being duplicated, or future trade-offs are being made.
Teammate exists to surface that full picture, cut through the noise, and help businesses decide what’s genuinely worth fixing now, and what can wait.
At the same time, the future has arrived. AI is already part of how work gets done. Many businesses are being pushed toward tools and “solutions” before their underlying processes, data, or decision-making are ready for them.
That gap is where hype, jargon, and expensive mistakes flood in.
A few principles shape how the work is approached:
Honesty
The starting point is always how work actually gets done, not how it’s described or intended.
Synthesis
Attention goes to what’s creating recurring issues, not just the latest symptom.
Delivery
Change is recommended only where it clearly improves performance. I stay until the agreed outcomes are delivered and the “new way” is functioning.
Independence
Expect clarity and a proper handover. I build systems that you own and understand—no gatekeeping, no manufactured dependency.
To be clear: This is not about tearing everything up or overcomplicating. It’s about making proportionate improvements with a clear understanding of consequences, costs, and trade-offs.

When you’re tired of the workarounds costing more than the real fixes.

A conversation is usually enough to work out whether it makes sense to go further.
